KidsEQ History

In 2005, KidsEQ merged with Enchanté InnerTainment, LLC ("Enchanté"), an award-winning media company founded in 1989. After producing two award-winning dramatic films in 1991, and later two children’s cable TV series and a network special with Shelley Duvall and her Think Entertainment, the company formed Enchanté-George in 1993 as a joint venture with former Disney animator and executive producer Jim George. This partnership has significantly expanded the company’s animation and television assets providing a rich catalog of characters and titles.

Media

Jim George is an award-winning animator, illustrator, director, and storyteller who worked for Disney in his early carrier. The Enchanté-George partnership worked to reach audiences of all ages through an entirely new genre of inquisitive, magical, inspired characters, content and merchandise.

Emphasizing timeless animation styles and showcasing the extraordinary abilities of Jim George and his team, the company developed a slate of film, television, home video, books and licensed merchandising properties. Since its inception In late 1993, Enchanté-George has built an inventory of nearly two dozen original television treatments and an additional dozen illustrated books, collectively populated by nearly 200 original, captivating, proprietary animated characters.

The team launched a thirteen episode family oriented animated series "Umptee-3 TV," first broadcast in September 1997. The project was developed with the Warner Brothers Network and Columbia Tristar Television Animation, in association with producer Norman Lear and his Act III Productions. Sony Studios-based Richard Raynis (production executive for such other animated hits as The Simpsons and Jumanji) Produced.

Enchante won a number of awards for it's two feature films, "Palooka" and "Magic Boat." Recognition includes a variety of gold and silver children’s film awards from the Philadelphia, Houston, Chicago and other film festivals. The company also won the Ace Awards for both its TV Specials "Bed Time Stories" and "Miss Piggle Wiggle" (with MCA/HBO)

Books

The Kids EQ library currently consists of four distinct book series:
The Enchanté Emotional Literacy series, featuring "Mrs. Murgatroyd," is a collection of seven richly illustrated titles based on original stories by veteran art and play therapist Liz Farrington and penned by award-winning writers. Accompanied by corresponding activity and parent/teacher guide books, the fantasy adventures examine such issues as anger, hurt, loneliness, jealousy, guilt, grief and fear. The series is woven together by the presence of Mrs. Murgatroyd, whose magical paints help each child protagonist understand and confront a looming emotional challenge.

"The Magic of Color" series consists of six books for the preschool audience. These books activate creativity and emotions through vivid colors, charming illustrations and exuberant verse. These books are developed not only to teach children to identify colors, but show them the many ways that color corresponds to different energies and emotional states. (currently sold out).
